Ancillary Procedures That Can Be Performed In Conjunction With Transbleph Brow Suspension
More Information
If the lateral third of the eye brow has excessive drooping, or what is medically termed “ptosis”, then a trans blepharoplasty brow suspension can be utilized. This is often performed in conjunction with upper lid blepharoplasty to provide a more open, rested appearance to the eye. This procedures performed commonly in men, as many men have very full, heavy eyebrows that sag laterally. Trans blepharoplasty brow suspension, in conjunction with upper lid blepharoplasty, can provide a very “refreshed” appearance without the normal signs of surgery. Through a blepharoplasty incision, tissues are elevated over the orbital rim and forehead area. Using a specially developed dissolvable implant, eyebrow tissues are able to be elevated into their more natural position. This can be done very decisively. Special calipers are used to measure the thickness of the sheet of paper, in order to determine precise position of the eye brows. The incisions are closed with dissolvable sutures. Cold compresses are utilized for the first 48 hours after surgery. Incisions are cleaned with hydrogen peroxide, and bacitracin ointment is applied four times a day for the first week. Make up can be use after one week. Most individuals find they can resume normal activities within seven days.
